current job opening: front-end developer

Monumental is seeking bright, creative, web-development generalists who are capable of creating a non-trivial application by themselves, but who will be expected to work in a team. A basic understanding of all layers of an app, from the database to the framework code to the front-end is key. Should be unafraid of finding novel solutions and exploring untested technology. An eye for design and a feel for good user experience is a plus.

Need-to-have Skills:
- able to read/write/re-write cross-browser compatible HTML/CSS/Javascript
- very strong CSS and jQuery skills
- familiarity with Adobe CS Suite (ability to cut out graphic assets)
- familiarity with social media APIs
- excellent debugging chops
- good communication skills

Nice-to-Have Skills:
- iOS skills.
- experience with scripting languages (shell, python, ruby)

current job opening: idea and experience architect

Monumental is looking for someone who can come up with brazenly innovative ideas that solve client problems and then translate those ideas into compelling user experience. Candidate should be an ideas focused communicator with a deep appreciation of usability and have a background in either interactive design or UX design (or both). The ability to simplify and express unique interactions across digital platforms to both clients and development teams is also required. Candidate will be expected to creatively use a wide palette of interactive platforms including mobile, web, video games, social media and combinations thereof. Candidate should feel comfortable working directly with clients who range from advertising agencies and design boutiques to tech startups and large corporations.
